Consultation sessions
Shibui offers consultation sessions for clients who would like experienced, focused input without committing to a full design commission.
Consultations are a standalone service and do not assume any further engagement. They may take place before a project begins, or at specific points where additional perspective is useful.
Design Direction Session – HKD 4,500 (or equivalent in USD / GBP)
A Design Direction Session is suited to early‑stage conversations or well‑defined questions. It provides concise, practical guidance to help establish priorities, test assumptions, or sense‑check direction before decisions become fixed.
This session is conversational in format and focused on moving thinking forward clearly and efficiently.
Shibui Deep Dive – HKD 12,000–15,000 (or equivalent in USD / GBP)
The Shibui Deep Dive is intended for more complex situations where context, constraints and options need to be explored in depth. This may include reviewing existing schemes, reconciling competing priorities, or establishing a clear framework for next steps across a larger piece of work. The scope and fee within this range are agreed in advance, based on the issues being addressed.
What is included
Consultation sessions typically include:
- discussion of the brief, site or existing material
- clarification of options and priorities
- guidance on next steps, sequencing or decision‑making
Written notes, drawings or specifications are not included unless agreed separately in advance.
What consultations are not
Consultations do not include:
- developed design proposals or drawings
- site surveys or measurements
- detailed specification of materials, furniture or fittings
- project management or coordination
If further work is required following a consultation, this is discussed separately and agreed in writing.
Booking, payment and tax
Consultations are booked by enquiry, subject to availability. Fees are payable in advance to confirm the session.
Consultations are usually held remotely, unless an in‑person meeting is agreed in advance.
Shibui Collection is a Hong Kong–based company working internationally.
Services provided remotely from Hong Kong are not subject to UK VAT.
Local taxes, if applicable, are discussed at the time of booking.
Further work
If a consultation leads to a wider piece of work, this is treated as a separate engagement. Any subsequent fees are agreed independently and are not offset by the consultation fee unless explicitly stated.
