Looking at Clarissa's work it is clear how it features for Belgian company, When Objects Work, alongside names such as John Pawson, Vincent van Duysen and Bruno Erpicum. Her work is restrained and simple without feeling cold, careful proportion tops unnecessary detail.
In many of the pieces, the Bohemian lead crystal is thick and slightly imperfect, creating interesting light reflections from every angle. The bowl (shown) is the first piece I noticed from Clarissa, and probably the case for many others who come across her work. It's a piece that is often described as functional and this works perfectly well as a bowl. Yet the thickness, the curves, the edges and the unique imperfections in the glass diffusing the light, make you seriously question why you would put anything in it and spoil the effect.
